Silver Lake Film Festival 2003

The Korean Quentin Tarantino... undiscovered local talent... the premiere of the world's first French anime feature... a stand-up comedian who may be America's best hope for political justice... a real-life encounter with a silent film superstar... and a blues and rock series that melds nonfiction films with live performances.

In our 4th year, the Silver Lake Film Festival's boundaries just keep getting broader.

Our goal has always been to showcase the life and muses of Silver Lake and L.A.'s Eastside. This time out, we've cast an even wider cinematic net--artistically, culturally, and geographically. In the mood for the best of international film; daring documentaries; or undiscovered works from local talents? You'll find it all here--and then some.

Whether we're celebrating Academy Award nominee (and Silver Lake resident) John C. Reilly or honoring the 80th anniversary of our beloved landmark theater, the Vista, our aim is true: To make you look at your life--and those of others--in an entirely new way.

Of course, there's serious fun along the way: gala events, informal happenings, and other opportunities for major partying abound. Pick and choose, or do it all; "something for everyone" only begins to describe the Festival this year.
